FEBA Tradition in Teaching Statistics and Econometrics
The Department of Statistics and Econometrics at FEBA has been providing up-to-date training in quantitative methods, statistics and econometrics, and economic modelling since 1997. Over the last 20 years, FEBA has built a reputation of a leading academic and research centre in Bulgaria and SEE in quant education and applied economic modelling. FEBA Econometrics alumni have made successful careers as analysts in the financial sector, the analytics consultancy, and in public institutions all over Europe and in Sofia. In continuation of these traditions, FEBA established the Master’s Programme in Applied Econometrics and Economic Modelling in 2016.

Marketable and Impactful Skills, and Career Development
The use of analytics and quantitative economics have grown exponentially in all areas including healthcare, government, retail, e-commerce, media, manufacturing, and the service industry. Currently, there is an increased demand for employees who possess analytical skills, who can understand and use statistical and quantitative models, and who can provide better data-driven business solutions.
The curriculum largely matches the standard requirements concerning the quantitative economics analyst profession domestically and internationally. The programme graduates are economists skilled in the theoretical and empirical modelling of real-life problems and data. They can find employment in governments and central banks, in financial institutions, in market research agencies, in social networks and media research companies, in consultancies specialized in quantitative and decision analytics, in large industrial companies with own research units, etc. The Master’s programme can also be considered as the preparatory stage for PhD studies leading to a career in academia.
